What to Expect When Receiving Dental Implants and Restorations in One Day

If you choose to replace a lost tooth or many teeth with same-day dental implants, you can expect your treatment to follow these general steps:

Consultation

During your consultation, our dentists will evaluate your oral health and other candidacy factors in order to make certain that this solution is right for you. If you choose to move ahead with same-day implants, we will schedule your placement surgery procedure.

Dental Implant Surgery

Before the procedure, we will numb the treatment area and provide sedation upon request. Once you are comfortable, your dentist can perform any necessary extractions. Next, they will begin placing the implants into the jawbone to replace lost tooth roots.

Temporary Restorations

Once the implants are in place, you will receive temporary tooth restorations on the same day. These will attach to your implants and provide you with a balanced bite, an improved appearance, and clearer speech right away. However, you will need to wait several months for the implants to fully integrate with your jaw before you begin using your implant-supported restoration to eat foods like steaks or apples.

Healing

Over the next three to six months, the implants will become fused to the jaw in a process called osseointegration.

Permanent Restoration

Once your dentist confirms that osseointegration is complete, you can receive your custom crown, bridge, or denture.
